Ayurveda is full of amazing drugs and their combination, which not only treat our diseases but also maintains the health of body, among those there is one, known as Trikatu combination. It is group of three drugs  i.e. black pepper,  ginger and long pepper (pippali). All the three drugs are usna in properties so do an amazing effect on digestive problems.

Drug details-

Black pepper (kalimirch) –

It is very common household drug, easily available in our kitchen. Scientific name of black paper is Piper nigrum and commonly known as kalimirch among Indians. It is a flowering vine of family Piperaceae cultivated for its fruit. It is also used in spices and seasonings but have an astounding effect in treatment of diseases also, when given in a balanced amount. It helps to prevent cancer, digestive problems, improve vision, relieve cold and cough, improve skin, addresses depression, enable weight loss etc.

Ginger-

It is also in easily available household Spice. Scientific name of Ginger is Zingiber officinale. It is also a  herbaceous perennial flowering plant. This plant's rhizome which is a type of root is the ginger. Ginger has long been used for culinary and medicinal purposes. Possible health benefits includes reducing  nausea, digestion, cardiovascular health, body pain and inflammation. Ginger can be used to make tea, Chopped or crushed in curries and savoury dishes.

Long pepper (pippali) –

Scientific name of long pepper is Piper longum. It is also a flowering vine which cultivated for its fruit. Long pepper used as spices in many vegetable pickles. It has similar properties like black pepper but hotter taste then black paper. It has black papers heat and musk but in less harsh way temperd by sweet notes of nutmeg. Where black pepper stings, long pepper balms.
